Where Contemporary Garden Design Meets a Private Studio Sanctuary

Project Overview

This project combines a contemporary garden design with a bespoke garden studio, created as a calm, functional extension of the home.

The design centres around strong material contrasts and clean architectural lines. Western Red Cedar cladding brings warmth and softness to the built elements, while porcelain paving and clay pavers create a refined, durable surface palette throughout the garden.

A sculptural water feature introduces movement and sound, helping to define the space and soften the modern structure of the design. A bespoke outdoor polished concrete kitchen forms a social focal point, positioned to work seamlessly with the surrounding planting and hard landscaping.

The garden studio was designed with curved lines, challenging the typical square garden room format. This softer geometry allows the building to sit more naturally within the landscape, proving that contemporary garden rooms don’t have to be rigid or box-like to feel architectural and purposeful.

Completed with layered planting schemes to balance structure with softness, this was delivered as a full garden and studio design package, creating a modern, flexible outdoor space that works for both living and working.
